Election Thoughts
It's tuesday, and work has been pretty busy for me today.
As most of my friends are aware, I've been following this year's election rather closely. Who wouldn't?
We all have so much at stake this year: Free Speech, Economic Hardship, Jobs, Equality, Reproductive Rights, National Security, Global Respect. It's just mind-boggling.
What's even more mind-boggling, though, is that people are still out there trying to get Ralph Nader on the ballot. On Saturday, I got accosted in the Strip District by some guy that wanted me to sign a petition to get Nader on the Ballot. I just looked at him and said "no Fucking way!" When he said "Why?" I merely said "a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush."
Seriously, who the fuck out there is voting for Nader? and WHY?!?!?!?!?! WTF are you thinking? These are people that would cut off their nose to spite their face. They are willing to endure 4 more years of hell, just so they can prove a point. Well, honey's, this is not the year for it.
Nader: Do the American thing...Get that Bush out of office, and cast your vote for Kerry.
If the election weren't going to be so close, I'd say "fine, do whatever turns you on." But this is NOT the year for a Nader or Perot-type to come in and throw the votes away on Bush.
I realize that Kerry may not be the best candidate in this election, but he is the only sensible choice.
Let's start a new campaign....Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Stupidly.
If you think I'm wrong, let me know, but this is just f'ing NUTS!
Peace Out!
