Mondegreens

When I hear songs on the radio, I'm usually pretty good at figuring out the lyrics. I mean, you can pretty much figure out from the context of the sentence what is going on lyrically.

However, there are two songs that have me perplexed. I'm hearing things, and filling in the blanks. Contextually, my versions work, but apparently I'm wrong.

My versions are offensive to some, but they do indeed work. See for yourself:

Frankie J - Obsession (No Es Amor)

"I dont know if its right
I'm tossin' turning in my bed
It's 5 o'clock in the morning
And I still cant sleep
Thinkin' 'bout your booty it makes me weep..."
(I've seen some pretty fierce booties in my time...But to sing about them? Seriously.)

And...

Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up

"When I grow up
I wanna be famous
I wanna be a star
I wanna be in movies
When I grow up
I wanna see the world
Drive nice cars
I wanna have boobies..."
(Hey, don't yell at me -- Consider the source of those lyrics!)

I did some research on the interwebs and found that I'm not the only one who feels this way about these lyrics. I'll let you look up the real ones yourself.

Of course, my mind didn't stop there. I had to visualize the lyrics...

Weep-worthy? Check!

Boobies? Check!

Oh come on, what'd you think I'd post?

Oh yeah...Boobies? Jake...mmmm...er, I mean CHECK!

Have you heard the Aventura version of Obsession? It's in Spanish, so it's even harder to understand, but it makes me want to drink margaritas. And it makes me wish I could dance in some sort of non-awkward way.
