Adobe = Dirt

...or, I can't believe people pay $2,500 for this crap

So, I've been getting a lot of requests from faculty regarding the new Adobe CS3. Work has it, so I asked for the DVDs to install it on my work laptop.

Did you know that a $2,500 software package won't install on the typical computer? Think I'm lying...Ask how I spent the past 28 hours *not including the 7 hours of sleep in the middle* Or better yet, ask the thousands of people online who've had similar problems with this particular installation.

The point is not my post. The point is, when you pay more for the software than you do the computer, it should FUCKING WORK! The only consistent resolution I've seen is to uninstall windows, reinstall it, then install Adobe CS3 first thing.. Lysa said it best: "sure, yeah, we'll get right on that."

Now here's the other thing...when I talked to someone from Adobe today, I said "why did it install on my Mac partition with no problem and it won't work on windows?" and the guy responded with, "well, just use it on the Mac partition." Again, "sure, yeah, we'll get right on that." As much as I'd love to stay on mac all day long, there are a few things that don't work on mac that I currently use, 1) Access, and 2) MindLeaders (I'm my company's administrator for that), and 3) Outlook (Entourage doesn't work well with the shared calendar I currently have to use.

So I guess I'm f'ed for now. Fucking Adobe. They are now on my list:
  1. Walmart
  2. #1 Cochran
  3. Olive Garden
  4. Macy's Furniture
  5. Adobe

What the douche.
Does 1 company own all the things on your list? Like Macy's-Super-china-america-olive-mart with extra Cochran ?
