Cartoon Heroes

So Miss Manda and I have been on our Cartoon kick. We have this tradition that started years ago with Monsters Inc and a poopy diaper that we've yet to break. Any time a cutesy cartoon movie comes out that we want to see, we are drawn to it like Britney to losers.

This past month we saw both Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E. Both were good, though not my favorites by a long shot. Kung Fu was just fluff, where Wall-E was a serious social commentary masked as cartoon. I think Al Gore was the executive producer or something. It takes place 700 years from now on an earth that is covered with trash and no longer able to sustain life. People live on a giant cruise ship and are so fat and lazy that they can no longer walk. Sounds like a weekend at the Golden Corral, right?

Kung Fu Panda wasn't produced by Al Gore, he just looked like Al Gore. It had a great message that hasn't been overplayed or anything: "the magic is in you." Yeah, kind of predictable.

Sorry to sound cynical, but hardly any movies get me going any more. Maybe Mamma Mia will get me going again.

I can't wait to see Kung Fu Panda. Mostly because I am obsessed with pandas and bright shiny cartoony things.
