Economy in the Toilet...

...right along with our civil rights.

So that is a nice little capstone for this disastrous excuse of a presidency. I don't try to get political; there are a lot better people than me when it comes to going after the president (Jon Stewart...my hero), but some have asked me about how I feel about where the economy is going.

Well, it's going to the rich people. The stock market is taking a beating, but that's cuz all of those rich people who have stocks are selling them off very cheaply. Yes, they're taking a hit, but they are also getting the cash out of it. They were the ones who thought making the economy better would happen by giving more money to the rich (trickle down, my ass!... mmm... er... Fight Trickle-Down Economics) and then having those rich loan money to people who didn't have any...at low interest rates. Really fuckin' brilliant.

Us po' people are sitting back and watching our retirement plans being beat up like the geeky kid on the playground (poor guy, I know how that feels). I mean, I'm sitting here watching the market and watching my retirement plan lose about 20% of the cash I've thrown in there to help protect me when I'm older. Not cool. We're also watching people without retirement plans, those whose entire investments are their homes, lose their homes.

Those rich folks don't know what the fuck it's like. Chris Rock said it nicely on Larry King, "The choice is you got a guy that's worth $150 million with 12 houses against a guy who's worth a million dollars with one house...The guy with one house really cares about losing a house, because he is homeless. The other guy can lose five houses and still got a bunch of houses."

8 years ago, our economy was doing much better than what 12 years of Republican Regime left us in. Remember what that did to us? We were so poor by the time George H.W. came into office that we had to resort to grunge music. I mean, even our celebrities were poor and dirty (RIP Curt).

I's our fault, though, really. We were the ones who didn't have enough of George H.W. ("Boy, they were big on crematoriums, weren't they?" - at Auschwitz, Sept 1989) Bush so we voted his son, George W. ("You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." - to divorced mother of three) Bush, into office. We're dumber than they are!

So with that, I leave you with: Vote Democrat...Specifically vote Obama for President. Our economy and civil rights depend upon it. Don't even get me started on the civil rights part...
