Swingline

Today, I got my very own stapler. A shiny, black Swingline still in it's box--A beacon of newness. Oh, and the job is pretty cool too.

I work on the 33rd floor and stare out a huge window to the little ant-sized people on the street. Yeah yeah yeah, I know...I have a job to do too. I spent the morning learning the important things like donde está el cuarto de baño. The kitchen is pretty cool (they stock the fridge with free canned beverages), and the bathroom appears to be clean. The benefits seem to be really good and the people appear genuinely happy to be there(or the healthplan has good Rx-Drug coverage...I can't tell yet).

I went to lunch with a new co-conspirator...er...worker. Then I spent the entire afternoon sitting in a training class to learn the new system. Lots of fun. Plenty of new toys to learn (systems and laptop and tape dispensers..Oh My!).

The only negatives that I can see right now are 1) I sit in my boss's boss's office (they are building more office space for us) and 2) the commute sucks (people don't know how to drive through tunnels in this city).

And now I need a nap!

I think I need to come to work with you, too! And you thought the commute sucked before, just wait until we're all squashed into J's car together!
