The 'Burbs

Eventually, I'd like for my home to be finished. You know, nothing left to fix, replace, resurface, or repaint.

So far the house has new: windows, back door, appliances, heater, a/c, hot water heater, bathroom vanity, light fixtures (all of them...inside and out), carpet, paint (on every surface except the laundry room and garage), wood laminate floors (foyer, powder room, and kitchen), mirrors in the bathrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen, refinished kitchen cabinets, and furniture.

The only thing that has not gotten changed are the doors and woodwork throughout the house. Just when I think it's over with, I come home to find tarps down and the smell of paint or caulking in the air. Or, I will be sitting in the living room watching TV and am alerted by the pounding of a hammer. I think someone around here is obsessed, but I'm not naming names.

One of these days I'm going to wake up to no roof or my bed out on the patio.

Here's the latest:

OMG, I would love to have a house to renovate (and time and money to) because I think it's just such a neat idea to make it all new and all yours. Love the countertop and the photos of the cafe fronts.

It’s gorgeous! BTW, I was rudely corrected recently that the proper term is water heater, because if the water is hot then why does it need to be heated? Because bitch if you correct me again I’m gonna scald ya...
